My Mother My Friend poem
| |

My Mother, My Friend

Through joy and through pain,
Mom, you guide my way.
Your love is my gain.

Your strength will remain,
Through night and bright day,
Through joy and through pain.

In sunshine or rain,
You always will stay,
Your love is my gain.

Though paths are not plain,
We laugh and we play,
Through joy and through pain.

No bond we restrain,
Together we sway,
Your love is my gain,
Through joy and through pain.
Laughter in the Rain
Laughter in the Rain

Meaning

This poem celebrates a mother’s role as both parent and friend. It highlights how her love, strength, and companionship bring comfort and joy through all of life’s challenges.

Inspiration Behind

I wrote this villanelle to express how mothers can be not just caretakers, but true friends. Using the word “Mom” made it feel personal. The repeated lines show how constant a mother’s love is, no matter the situation.
