Ah Sunflower poem

Ah Sunflower

Ah Sunflower, weary of time,
Who counts the steps of the sun;
Seeking after that sweet golden clime
Where the traveller's journey is done.

Where the Youth pined away with desire,
And the pale virgin shrouded in snow,
Arise from their graves, and aspire
Where my sunflower wishes to go.

Look, how the day turns to night,
Yet in dreams, there's a glimmering light.
Through the silent echo of flight,
Each petal basks in delight.

Sunflower, in fields of ember,
Dancing beneath the azure sky.
Each moment tender, we'll remember,
Underneath the vast, unending high.

So, stretch your leaves towards the dawn,
Embrace the light, and carry on.
For in this dance of shadows and sun,
Your journey's only just begun.
A sunflower field under a starry night sky
A sunflower field under a starry night sky
